The aim is to help graduating students prepare for an important social night without having to face a financial burden. Some kids miss out on their Grade 6 graduation and Grade 11 prom because they simply cannot afford it and that’s where Project Prom can help, Pearson officials noted.
Students are invited to browse for a dress or a suit, shoes and some accessories, for free. Participants are asked in return to make a donation (such as canned goods) to help out On Rock Community Services, which runs a food bank in Pierrefonds.
Students must make an appointment to select items during open houses set for Saturdays on Feb. 4, March 18, April 15 and May 6 at Macdonald High School, 17 Maple St., Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. To book an appointment, send an email to jguy03@lbpearson.ca.
